The islets are the product of an avalanche of stone and mud that fell off the slopes of the Mombacho volcano.
Islets of Granada
When the Mombacho volcano erupted many years ago, it threw huge rocks at Lake Nicaragua. As a result of this violent eruption, 365 small islands were formed in front of Granada.
The nature, the local and migratory birds, and the daily life of the native families make it an ideal place for boat or kayak rides.
